Today's real wedding feature is on my friend, Katrina and her hubby Amir. The two lovebirds met the summer of 1993 in Harlem and have been together on and off every since then! They wed on August 24, 2005 at the Brown Stone in Paterson, NJ in front of 90 guests.
Katrina joins our DIY Club because she made all the wedding favors, programs, as well as the jumping broom. When asked how she knew he was "the one", Katrina said "I knew he was the one when I was relocated to Philly and then I found myself spending more time in NY with him than in my own apartment! I realized that I didn't want to be without him!"
Katrina was a beautiful bride and I love how her bouquet just pops out in all the pictures! Check out some of the pics from their lovely day!!

Real Wedding - Scott & Shari
Today's real wedding feature is on a college friend of mine, Scott Lilly & his wife Shari. The couple met at Virginia Commonwealth University at a fraternity party. Scott said once Shari found out he was a basketball player, she "gave him hell from day one!" :)
They have been together 9 years now.
On August 3, 2007, Scott and Shari tied the knot at the beautiful Ocean Club Resort in Turks and Caicos in front of 40 guests. When asked how he knew Shari was the one, Scott said "We had been living together and I was offered an opportunity to move to New York to take a new job. When I came home with the news and told her, she told me that we’d figure it out and make it work. She was in grad school at the time and my opportunity would cause us to live apart for 7 months. Her support during a major life decision let me know she was the one for me."
Check out some of the great pictures from their beautiful wedding!

Celeb Bride Feature - Brandi Williams
Today's celeb bride feature is Brandi Williams. Some of you may remember her as a member of the R&B group, Blaque, founded by Left Eye of TLC. On May 23, 2009, Brandi wed her love, Jason Harris. The wedding took place in the backyard of her uncle's home in Atlanta.
The couple met when Jason was visiting Brandi's stepfather. Jason said he felt an instant connection and that he never believed in love at first sight until meeting Brandi. He knew she was that "one". And that was evident because on Valentine's Day of 2007, Jason proposed to Brandi after only 2 months of dating!!
Check out a few pics from their big day!

Wedding Shoes
Shoes! Shoes! Shoes! There are so many options for a bride! Some would even say the shoes are one of the most important things for a bride....and others would argue that you never even see the brides shoes until the groom is lifting her dress to get the garter! And thats if the bride hasnt already gotten comfy and switched out her uncomfortable shoes for some slippers!! So spending a few hundred dollars on shoes that no one will really see seems insane to some... but for those who are all about the shoes, Ive found some hot designer shoes that are great for the big day!
Of course you still have to make sure the shoe goes with the style and look of your dress. Not every shoe will go with every dress. My personal fav out this bunch are the Guiseppe's ...but whew... a $590 pricetag even for the big day is a bit steep for my blood... lol ... Plus the big bow look may be a bit too much going on with my dress. Oh well......
Check them out!
Giuseppe Zanotti $590
Badgley Mischka 'Caroline' $225
Martinez Velero 'Crystal' $175
Stuart Weitzman 'Boteroby' $365
Benjamin Adams 'Winslet' $239
Christian Louboutin 'Carnaval Nodo Satin' $795
Stuart Weitzman 'Pomposo' $325
RSVP 'Michaela' $79
