Bumble Bee 1st Birthday Party

On this past Sunday, I decorated a bumble bee themed 1st birthday party for Tatum, the cute lil daughter of two of my friends from college. They had it at the Jelly Bean Jungle in Marlton, NJ so the place is already decorated but mommy wanted to tie in the theme of Tatum's big day!  Since we were doing a bumble bee theme which is traditionally just black and yellow, I wanted to make it a little girly so we decided to tie in a little pink.

Photog and good friend of the couple, Micheal Derek was there snapping pics of everything and I cant wait to see how great his professional pictures turn out!  He also took the picture of Tatum that I used for the magazine cover.  But for now, you'll have to check out the ones I took on my lil digital camera....which dont really do the party justice....lol
Guest were greeted as they walked in by this cute magazine cover with the birthday girl on it! :)

Princess & the Frog Party

This past weekend was the Princess and the Frog Party I decorated for 4 year old Cadence and it turned out great! As you remember, awhile ago I posted a message looking for people in the Philadelphia area who needed help decorating an event.  Well in addition to posting it here, I also (aganist the wishes of a few of my friends lol) decided to post it on Craigslist too.  From that posting,  I was contacted by a lovely lady looking to have a Princess and the Frog themed party for her soon-to-be 4 year old daughter and 7 of her lil friends.  Turns out we go to the same church and we are sorors (shout out to all my Deltas)!  How ironic is that?

I had a great time planning this party and the mother was great to work with! Lil Cadence has food allergies so her mother cooked all the delicious food for the party and we gave them cute little names.  Check out some of the pics!

Welcome Sign I made for the party

I spray painted this frame lavendar to go with theme

Check out the centerpiece for table.  I thought the frogs were too cute! They were silver, I spray painted them green! Remember spray paint is your friend! lol

Shopping for Princess & the Frog Party

So I've been doing a little shopping lately for my clients' Princess & the Frog themed birthday party coming up next month.  My method is usually to pick up whatever I see that may work for an event, keep my receipts, then if I decide not to use something I just return it later.  Its always better to have too much than not have enough.  And I think everyone knows how awful it feels to see something you think you like, pass on it, then later decide you want it only to return to the store and its no longer there! The worst feeling ever, right?

Here are a few items I got so far:

And check out the beautiful sequined fabric I found that I will use as an overlay on tablecloth (fabric is sheer).  I love it! It's so girly!

The key is to look everywhere for little odds and ends to go with a theme. Some of the spots you never think would have something may just be where you find that one thing that puts your party decor over the top!  I have an inspiration board too but its way too big so I won't be sharing that.  I have so many ideas..but there is no way I'm going to be able to do them all.  But I'm really excited to see how everything comes together and I hope the little birthday girl loves it all too.... stay tuned! ;)

SUPER CUTE Birthday Party Ideas for Girls

One of the biggest challenges for moms is figuring out what theme to go with each year for birthday parties for the kiddies! My friend, Christina, always comes up with the BEST birthday party ideas for her daughters, Kennedy and De'yanna. I recently saw pics from the birthday parties she did for them and I just had to do a feature!

Kennedy's 4th Birthday party had a cowgirl theme. It was absolutely too cute! Planning a great party requires attention to detail and Christina's attention to detail is unbelievable. She did an awesome job!

Remember, putting on a good party is a lot of work. Usually, you will not be able to find everything in one place. Spending tons of hours online looking for different items isn't uncommon. BUTTTT, the payoff when it turns out like these parties did make it all worth it! :)

Check out some pics from Kennedy's 4th Birthday Party and De'Yanna's Sweet 13 Birthday Party!
