80's Themed Party for Hubby

In two weeks, my hubby turns the BIG 3-0...and we just decided to do a little something for his big day.  We are having a small get together and of course we needed a theme so he decided on an 80s theme for it. 

Since I only have two weeks and don't have much time to pull things together for this shin dig, I have to think fast about how Im going to decorate! I went by the thrift store today and picked up some old vinyl records and cassette tapes...see below:

 

I'm not quite sure yet how I will incorporate these but they were only $0.50 a piece so once I figure out my plan, I may go back for more. Just got a couple for now to play around with some ideas. Stay tuned! 

Pretty Fonts!

Anytime you are creating invitations, stationary, or party materials, choosing a good font is always key! Nowadays there are literally thousands of fonts to choose from.  I LOVE pretty script fonts...so girly!  But some of the really pretty fonts can be pricey.  There are a lot of sites like 1001fonts.com where you can download tons of fonts for free though.  I have compiled a few of my favorite fonts. Decorating with Paper Lanterns

A huge trend  in decorating now is hanging paper lanterns! The best part of this look is that they are pretty inexpensive.  The only thing is that you usually need to buy a good number of them to really make an impact. They come in various sizes, colors, prints, and shapes and its even cooler to mix and match them.  They can work for pretty much any event from classy & formal to casual and fun.  You can find paper lanterns ranging from about $2.00 to $20.00.
